i would like someone to discuss some issues i have.

i understand all are welcome here, so i am sure some elders or former elders could help me.

i was a pioneer for 7 years, before that i was a regular auxiliarry pioneer for 3 years, i have been a witness for 17 years.

Here's a theory. They think you are guilty of secret sin. You said you asked the elders what you had done wrong and they told you to think about it. They don't know what you did but they are sure that you did something. Your daughter was DF'd. The congregation was told that you voluntarily stepped down. If you had done nothing wrong, why would you have to stop pioneering. You must be "infected" with the same "spirit that caused your daughter to sin". Especially, if you were spending alot of time with her prior to her DF'ing. The elders see your suffering as evidence that Jehovah has removed his spirit from you. And why would he do that? You are doing evil things and are hiding it. (This is not what I personally believe, just a theory as to what the cong. may be thinking) Then throw in the jelousies that you mentioned....

I don't know why you are cleaning the toilets though.

next week's service meeting is gonna be a doozy.

after the local announcements there is going to be a 15-minute talk by an elder based on the november 1, 2007, watchtower, pages 17-21. .

somebody with the resources to do it really ought to scan the article and post it as a pdf, it's hilarious, frightening and nauseating all at once.

I always wanted to know why children made the effort to write a letter and mail it to the branch. Seemed fishy to me. Maybe nobody ever showed them the multiple contribution boxes located conveniently throughout the KH? Besides, why waste money on postage when you could give the $ 0.41 to the WTS?

Keys! Are you kidding? I quit pioneering 3 years ago and was DF'd this year, hubby DA'd this year. We both still have our keys.

Would the blood ban be lifted if more men were dying of blood loss?

the watchtower did not wait too long to make factor viii a conscience matter for haemophiliac men.

i believe it happened inthe late 1970's but i'm sure someone would correct me if i am wrong on the date.. but, the blanket blood ban continues and women are still dying in childbirth unncecessarily around the world because they are jws.

if the boot were on the other foot, would blood transfusion be a conscience matter by now to keep jw men safe?.

A Governing body member, or someone in a GB member's family", you'd be blinded by the flash of new light.

I disagree. GB would lie. I'ver heard that they have before. Medical records are private there is no way that the public would ever know what proceedures a GB member had.

That is a very interesting question. Thanks for bringing it up. I have a tendency to believe that, yes, if more men were dying of blood loss, the ban would be lifted or they would have a very loose and unconfusing interpretation of what "no blood" means. Women are disposable in the WTS.

forties suits with handpainted ties.

fifties/sixties sharkskin "rat pack" suits with the skinniest ties i could get away with, etc.,

I used to wear Dr. Marten boots with skirts and had bleached blond short spiky hair (like Billy Idol). I also wore loads of black eye liner and dark lipstick. I didn't think much about it until my friends would react in amazment that I wasn't hounded by the elders for dressing that way for the meetings. But, they all had Elders for dads, that probably makes alot of difference.

New arrangement for field service?

i don't know if this is a worldwide thing because i didn't go the meeting where the arrangement was announced, but it's being done in my congregation anyway.

during those 6 months the member assigned to the pioneer is meant to make time to work with the pioneer as much as possible, so they can strengthen each other.

the idea is meant to be that eventually each member of the congregation will get a go.

At first, we the pioneers thought this would be good. There were between 2-4 pioneers. We were the only ones to show up for FS and when anyone else did show up, they had their own aragnements. Nobody wanted to work with the pioneers. So this new arangement would force people to work with us. No. Publishers were insulted when the elders suggested them for the program. How would you feel being mentored by an 18 year old twit. No one was even sure how the program worked. Pioneers didn't need extra unpaid work. (I loved how they used the Pioneer School against you. The scociety invested so much into you with that special school, its the least that you can do to show your appreciation for all their hard work.) And the publshers that were selected for the program needed real help. Like a single mom who rode a bus 2 hour to work everyday - she needs more feild service. An old woman who couldn't walk or hadrly even breathe - feild service will fix that too! And what about the woman on the edge of a nervous breakdown, alcoholic husband, kids are a wreck - lets tell her she's not doing enough, give her more to worry about. Aahhh. the loving provisions of the WTS.

When I was a baby I was baptized in a Catholic church, then when I was 15 I was baptized as a JW. I don't know if either of these baptizims count or if I am technically allowed to take communion in a regular church. I don't want to get baptized a third time because, come on, that seems like you're just starting some kind of baptizim collection. Any advice?

Reading that acutally made my stomach hurt. It is hard to imagine what my reaction to their self description would have been two years ago or more. Would I have thought it was nonsence, hyperbole? Or would I have thought, that is so true, we are the most loving people in the history of the world? I really wonder what the typical JW response would be to those statements.
